Too Much Tubing to Tune: Addressing Intonation Issues in your Low Brass Section |

The trombone, bass trombone, euphonium, and tuba have intonation problems that are unique to each instrument and must be taken into account during score study, sectionals, and ensemble rehearsals. This session will address some "quick fixes" as well as more elaborate methods for keeping your low brass section in tune.

As an assistant professor of music at St. Norbert College, Dr. Eric High directs the jazz ensemble and the concert band and teaches applied low brass, low brass methods, and Evolution of Jazz. Before coming to St. Norbert College in 2005, Dr. High taught junior high school band in Gilbert, AZ for five years. He received his bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and both his masters and doctoral degrees from Arizona State University.
