Next Direction for Band brings together outstanding high school students from across Wisconsin who share an interest in learning more about what is involved in entering a music career, specifically in band.  Students work in a band rehearsal setting with a renowned master director and gain valuable experience through exploration:

• Discover the "why" behind rehearsal procedures
• Learn about the skills necessary to become a successful musician and music educator
• Try out those skills in small group sessions and rehearsals
• Talk to university music education students
• Participate in mini-sessions with quality Wisconsin directors

Next Direction is a program of Wisconsin Music Educators Association in collaboration with Wisconsin School Music Association and funded in part by a generous contribution by White House of Music.
