Adult Community Music Organizations: Goals

The responding music organizations identified the following goals:
- To promote and maintain the cultural environment of the community.
- To provide free concerts in the park, promote band music and provide for musical outlet and development of members.
- To play music that people like -- our people and the people listening.
- To offer "post high school" instrumentalists a quality musical organization in which to again perform. Secondary is to have "off shoot" groups. We have a flute choir, clarinet choir, brass quintet and a stage band that rehearse separately and perform.
- To have fun playing a variety of good music in a no-pressure situation. To perform for the public and especially senior citizens at local senior centers.
- To provide a vehicle for adults to continue playing.
- To provide a way for older adults to play in a band -- as beginners or continuing musicians -- in an educational environment.
- To provide active music making for post high school adults in a caring, nurturing and educational environment.
- To give any community member an opportunity to continue playing their instrument and learn more about music.
- To provide musical outlet that challenges and satisfies our membership. Provide Southeastern Wisconsin with our unique brass band instrumentation (British brass band) through performance at concerts, festivals, churches and various organized events.
- To enhance the musical experiences of the performers and the audience. To present a varied repertoire of music. To continue to make music throughout life. TO HAVE FUN!
- To provide any and all adult band musicians the opportunity to play in and enjoy the volunteer band setting. Also we strive to be a quality music ambassador of the Park and Recreation Dept.
