The specific purpose of the Collegiate NAfME State Steering Committee, subject to the limitations set forth in the Articles of the Wisconsin Music Educators Association, Inc. shall be educational with reference to music, and shall be as follows:
  • The Steering Committee will support and extend the purposes of WMEA and NAfME through the involvement of undergraduate music education majors.
  • The CNAfME State Steering Committee shall plan and implement activities for Wisconsin CNAfME members to promote early professional involvement and to foster professional development through their career.
  • The Steering Committee is responsible for contacting and communicating with all CNAfME chapters across the state so that all students majoring in music education can participate.

How To Become Involved

  • Any CNAfME member in the state of Wisconsin is eligible to serve on the State CNAfME Steering Committee.
  • The CNAfME member must be nominated by his or her CNAfME Chapter Advisor.
  • Nominations are sent to the State CNAfME Advisor.
  • Each Chapter Advisor may nominate up to two candidates.
  • The CNAfME member is appointed by the State CNAfME Advisor to serve on the Steering Committee.

Description of Position

  • The length of term for each committee member is one year.
  • The term begins on July 1st of a given year and ends on June 30th of the following year.
  • Committee members may be re-appointed for an additional one-year term.
  • It is an excellent way to meet fellow music education majors and to network with music educators throughout the state. There are many ways for growth by being a part of the committee.
  • New ideas and new members are essential in continuing the Steering Committee's success.
  • You could have an impact on the activities that happen with CNAfME across the state!
