Lawrence Chapter Activities
We have have 20-30 members who meet twice a month. For these meetings we will bring in speakers from the community and within the conservatory to talk about different topics. Past topics have included: New General Music Games, Japanese Taiko Drumming, Including Sight-singing in Your Rehearsals, Beginning Jazz Improvisation, Working with Specials Needs Children in Music Therapy We also have a yearly retreat to Lawrence's northern campus called Bjorklunden. This weekend retreat includes workshops, a student teacher panel, an alumni panel and fellowship. It's a way to get all different Lawrence students together to meet and just have fun. Finally we provide networking and support services to all music education majors. This includes helping students with scheduling, study sessions for the Praxis II, and the all famous CMENC April Fool's Day Concert.
