Secretary

Jacki Thering

I'm a fifth-year senior at UW-Oshkosh, majoring in instrumental and general music education and violin performance. I have served as President and Vice-President of CMENC chapter #430, and this is my third year on the State Steering Committee. I play violin, viola, and piano and enjoy playing chamber music.

The role of the secretary is to take minutes for each of the Steering Committee meetings and to facilitate communication between the Committee and CMENC chapters around the state. Some duties include compiling an up-to-date contact list of all Wisconsin CMENC chapters and forwarding the State Newsletter and other messages to these chapters.

MIOSM Chair

Josh Mittendorf

I'm going to be a senior music education major at UW-Eau Claire. My area is instrumental music, and I play the string bass. I am originally from Eagan, MN. I am the current Vice President of the UW- Eau Claire CMENC chapter, and I held the office of advocate last year.

As the MiOSM chair I will take the state initiative and promote ways in which each chapter can participate in this event. I will be writing several articles in the Newsletter that will give ideas as well as updates on MiOSM.

Schuyler Gardner

Schuyler Gardner is currently a super senior at Lawrence University.  She is pursuing double degrees with a Bachelor of Music in Choral/General Music Education and a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies with a minor in Japanese.  She also works as a manager for two of the Lawrence Academy of Music Girl Choirs.  Additionally, she teaches music theory classes and sight singing through the Lawrence Academy of Music.  She is also a theory tutor at Lawrence.  This year will be Schuyler’s third year as an ArtsBridge scholar.  Through this program she works to integrate the arts (in her case, music) into other school subject areas, such as math, science, English, or social studies. After graduating, she hopes to become an elementary school general music teacher and work with a children’s choir.  She loves teaching and working with children and is very passionate about the importance (and fun!) of music education.  This is her second year on the WMEA CMENC Steering Committee and serving as the CMENC newsletter editor.
