National Anthem Project: Sept. 14 Sing-Along

Add your voice on September 14 (9 a.m. local time) when schools and communities across the nation will sing "The Star- Spangled Banner" to celebrate the anniversary of our national anthem. Governor Doyle has signed a proclamation (.pdf) officially declaring September 14, 2005 National Anthem Project Day to celebrate the history of the anthem and urge all music educators and residents of Wisconsin to participate in this project. Invite your local teachers, parents, schools and community leaders to join in singing this song together. Plan an event to showcase the important role music teachers play in passing our American heritage from one generation to the next. Materials are available to help you participate and get media coverage for your event.
