Capitol Concerts - Now Accepting Applications
  Deadline is December 1, 2009
Each year, WMEA sponsors school music group concerts in the State Capitol Rotunda during March and April. The concerts kick off as a celebration of MENC's Music In Our Schools Month and offer groups an opportunity to perform in this beautiful Wisconsin landmark.
Next Direction for Band
February 19-21, 2010 - Green Lake Conference Center
Next Direction for Band will again bring together outstanding high school students from across Wisconsin who share an interest in learning more about what is involved in entering a music career, specifically in band. This year, nationally renowned conductor and composer Frederick Speck (University of Louisville) will be the guest clinician. Watch for more information to come soon on the WMEA web site and encourage students to attend!
Listening Project

The WMEA Listening Project was developed to provide opportunities for students in grades 5-6 to learn about different musical styles, forms and timbres through listening. Teachers who join the Listening Project receive a repertoire list and accompanying CD, lesson plans and ideas, and a wealth of listening and teaching resources. Teachers also have the opportunity to enroll their students in a Listening Project festival. Learn more about the project and watch for additional details and web features to be posted soon on the Listening Project web page.
