From the President
by Kenneth L. Liske
For music educators in Wisconsin, there is no more comprehensive annual professional development event than the Wisconsin State Music Conference. With dozens of leading Wisconsin and national clinicians selected by WMEA members from an annual call for proposals, industry-sponsored workshops and a vast exhibit floor featuring the best new products and services, and the finest musical performances by school groups and student musicians at every level, it is the one annual event no music educator should miss.
Conference Highlights

The 2007 Wisconsin State Music Conference includes over 75 music education workshops (see "Session Schedule" in Attendee Resource Center) with graduate credit available; nearly 20 performing groups; nationally known conductors and presenters; and over 125 business and educational exhibitors. Capitol Concerts - Now Accepting Applications
  Deadline is December 1, 2007
Each year, WMEA sponsors school music group concerts in the State Capitol Rotunda during March and April. The concerts kick off as a celebration of MENC's Music In Our Schools Month and offer groups an opportunity to perform in this beautiful Wisconsin landmark.
Offer Theme Ideas for 2008 Conference!

Each year, the Wisconsin State Music Conference takes on a new theme/slogan, such as "Purposeful Passion, Remarkable Results," which is the theme/slogan for this year's conference. WMEA is now inviting ideas for the 2008 theme and we would like to hear from you!
