The title of this article has been on the
bulletin board in my band room for years.
It's a slightly humorous take on a philosophy
that motivates me and seems to strike a chord
with most students. I have learned from many
outstanding teachers and mentors, all of who
left their mark on my life and my teaching,
but somehow I always come back to the words
of Vince Lombardi.

Registration is now open for MENC's Music Education Week coming up June 24-29 in Washington, D.C. It is built around a new format, different from that of past national biennial conferences. This format is designed to provide members with opportunities for music education advocacy, intensive professional development and performances in a destination location on an annual basis and during the summer instead of the school year. |
