Case Study: Comparison of
Music Students in 1997 and 2007
Perception of Their Curriculum and Self-Growth
Maria Zellmer has just finished a long-term sub
position at Park View Middle School in Mukwonago,
teaching choral music and the "Exploring Music" classes
for first semester. She conducted a comparison study
to the survey she had taken in her general music
classes 10 years ago, to discover if her students
felt they had gained in skills and knowledge in the
classes. Last fall semester as she taught at Park
View, the keyboard classes were structured almost
exactly as they were 10 years ago. The original study
and paper written was her final project in completion
of her MME in Whitewater. It's presented here as
a case study.
