On June 21, over 100 music educators from Wisconsin, Illinois
and Iowa arrived at the Lawrence University in Appleton for the
2005 Summer CMP Workshop. This year’s workshop was
exciting, dynamic, and energizing. New at this years workshop
was the introduction of CMP for general music teachers and private
music teachers. The workshop also marked the second appearance
of the CMP book Shaping Sound Musicians. As many
music teachers have experienced, the summer workshops have a significant
impact on how music teachers teach music. Many pictures, comments
and highlights can be seen on the CMP Web
site. Congratulations
to Kate Schwarzenbart, Appleton, winner of the Jeanne Julseth Heinrich
Scholarship. Remember, if you wish to continue refining your
teaching skills, the CMP Project offers a Track II and Track III
for returning participants. Both tracks provide challenging
and in-depth work.
