Recognition for Teachers with 25 Years of Service

Were you a first-year teacher in 1983 or prior to 1983? 

If so, WMEA would like to recoginize music teachers, elementary through college, who have taught for 25 years (or more) and have been members of MENC for at least 10 of those years.  The recognition will include special features in the Wisconsin State Music Conference materials and in the September issue of Wisconsin School Musician.

The recognition form should be completed by all music educators who meet the above criteria, as well as, anyone who has taught more than 25 years but has not yet been recognized.

In order to receive your recognition at the 2008 Wisconsin Music Conference, please complete and submit your form by May 23, 2008.

2007 Recognized Teachers

The following teachers have cultivated a love of music in their students.  The musical experiences they have shared have touched the lives of students and community members alike.  On behalf of the students and communities they serve, congratulations and thank you for your dedication to music education.

"Fielded 125 students for the 1983 Packers vs. Lions half-time show."

"Starting the "Pops Concert" at Northwestern High School in 1978, which continues today."

"Having my band at Theisen Middle School chosen to perform at the NBA-Wisconsin Chapter Convention in 2005."

"Watching students progress from Hot Cross Buns to accomplished musicians in high school."
